BIDDING BRISK FOR BULLS by Barbara Scott
AN average price of nearly $500 above that achieved at last year's sale produced a pleasing result for Peter and Susie Humphreys at the Wilencote Poll Hereford Stud's auction on the property yesterday The 24 lots averaged $3,366 compared with last year's $2,895.
Bidding was brisk on the better bulls, but the market lacked a little of the depth of the other years at the bottom end of the prices.
Opening the sale with a welcome to the gallery, Mr Humphreys said the bulls had enjoyed an excellent season and he thought with the breeding data now available a more uniform beast was being produced.
